The freshman nursing students of the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila, which will only include Block 1, consisting of 44 students, are the respondents because they are the only class who practice one-way student discussion as a learning method. They are currently implementing one-way student discussion in the nursing subject. Theories and Foundations of Nursing. The data will be gathered by the use of a 20-item researcher-made questionnaire and it will be made by the researcher based on different journals, articles and other questionnaires already made by other researchers. Close-ended questions are to be utilized wherein the respondents answers are limited to a fixed set of responses so as to make it easier to quantify statistically. The questions will be base on the parameters stated on the first question of the Statement of the Problem. Furthermore, the researchers will observe the respondents during their actual reporting. Afterwards, the researchers will give 3 consecutive post tests consisting of 15 items each regarding the topics discussed by the reporters. This study will be conducted at the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila at the third floor of Gusaling Katipunan, where PLM nursing students usually conduct their classes. This study will be conducted during the first semester of school year 2011-2012. This study will limited only to answer the specific objectives as well as the certain parameters included in the statement such as the factors affecting one way student discussion of PLM Freshmen nursing students with the components of mastery of the topic, creativity, speed of discussion and organization of the topic, and extent of information retention related to one-way discussion in terms of performance in quizzes.
