ABSTRACT: The study determined the level of awareness of primigravidas on the pre-natal and the postnatal aspect of the Maternal Health. Specifically, the study answered the demographic profile of the respondents in terms of age, educational attainment, and gross family income. The significant relationship between demographic profile and the level of awareness on the prenatal and the postnatal aspect of the maternal health were recognized individually. A descriptive - correlational research and purposive sampling was utilized in the study. It also made use of a three-part questionnaire and were as follows: the demographic profile of the primigravidas, the level of awareness regarding prenatal care and the level of awareness regarding postnatal care. The statistical methods utilized in the study were frequency distribution table, Weighted Mean, One Way Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and Pearson's r. The findings were that majority of the respondents were 21-25 years old, high school graduate and with an average family income of P5,001-10,000. This concluded that using 0.05 level of significance, there was no significant relationship between the demographic profiles and the level of awareness of the respondents on the prenatal and the postnatal aspect of the Maternal Health. The general weighted mean of the level of awareness on the postnatal aspect of maternal health is 3.11 suggesting a moderate level of awareness on the postnatal aspect. This is evidenced by the computed correlation coefficient of 0.72. As level of awareness in pre-natal aspect increases, level of awareness on postnatal aspect also increases.
