Based from the analysis of the gathered data from the interview of the participants, I ferret-out from the conversation five (5) themes and explored it to capture the facets of Community Immersion Program (CIP). The first theme tackles the awe of the participants from their community experience in general. This may not be necessarily meant their initial encounter with the community experience but, from the memories they acquired from the experiences during the conduct of the program in the community. The second formulated theme discusses the participants eagerness to be with the community people thus, thinking ways to bridge relationships between the community people and them as student immersionists then. Interaction and building rapport with their own foster family and different population group was their way of sending their message that they are willing to help uplift the status of the community. In bridging relationships in the community, participants believed that creativity is important in communicating with the people and assessing skills to deeply analyse the problems within the community. The third theme Sense of Belongingness in the Community depicts the lived experienced of the student immersionists wherein they strive to be a member of their respective communities within their stay at the locale. Acceptance to the plight of the community is engrained to this topic of belongingness. Participants narrate how they are blessed with the accommodation of their foster families and to be treated as one with the community. With this shown hospitality by the community members, participants deeply appreciate and are grateful with their experience in the community. The fourth conveyed theme, Enhancing Sensitivity to the Community, is believed to be simultaneously developed with the bridging the relationships and the sense of belongingness of the participants to the community they are immersed during their program. Being with the community increases the compassion felt by the participants to its members. With this felt compassion brough to their consciousness the responsibility to those community people with different needs are enhanced among the participants. Consequently, respect among persons is developed leading to the transformation of the behaviour of the participants. Last of the themes formulated is the Metamorphosis of Behaviour of the participants. To the participants the Community Immersion Program is an age eye-opening experience to the realities of life leading them to become nearer to the plight of the people and be touched by the same. With this, the life-changing experience of the immersion program made cognitive and affective transformation among the participants of the study. Other editions:
