At 0.05 level of significant difference in the coping mechanisms used by the respondents when grouped according to the profile variables. Descriptive research was the design used in the study. A two-part questionnaire was used as a tool in conducting this study. The first part contains the profile of the respondents which includes gender, age, educational level, and socio-economic status. The second part contains a 45-item questionnaire assessing the extent of practice of coping mechanisms of the hemodialysis patients based on the study of Dr. Paul T. The statistical treatments utilized were Frequency Distribution Table and Chi-Square Test for Independence. The results showed that there is a great extent of practice of Situational schema and Active-emotional schema among hemodialysis patients while in the Passive-Emotional showed that there is moderate extent of practice among hemodialysis patients. There is no significant difference in the profile variables (gender, age, educational attainment and socio economic status) and extent of practice of coping mechanisms among hemodialysis patients.
