Action note: In: Summary: ABSTRACT: This study aimed to identify the health problems and the health-care seeking behaviors of the college students of Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila. Specifically, the study determined the common health problems of the respondents. In terms of physical, psychological, social and relational, and reproductive. Moreover, the study assessed the extent of utilization of health-care seeking behaviors and the extent of occurrences of barriers hindering the formal health-care seeking behaviors of the respondents. Furthermore, the relationship between the formal health-care seeking behaviors and its barriers was measured. The researchers conducted the study in Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila (PLM). Probability sampling technique specifically the Stratified Random Sampling was employed in determining the number of respondents from each college, whereas Fish bowl technique was used in selecting the respondents courses and year levels. The total number of samples was 383 students currently enrolled in the 12 undergraduate colleges of PLM excluding the College of Liberal Arts. Descriptive type of research through the use of a survey method, was utilized in this study. A Modified-Adapted Questionnaire serves as the primary tool in gathering the data which employed Checklists and 4 Point Likert Scales. The statistical treatments utilized in the study were Frequency and Percentage Distribution, Weighted Mean, and Pearson Product Moment Correlation (Pearson r) through the aid of Microsoft Excel 2010 and Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS). After the data-gathering and analysis, the study revealed the top 3 common health problems of the respondents in terms of physical : coughs and colds, head ache and fever; In psychological, stress, depression and insomnia; In social and relational; sibling/s conflicts, peer pressure and parents conflicts, and In reproductive: genital itching, painful urination, and rashes, sores or blisters on or around genitals. Also, this study discovered that most of the respondents utilized informal-relational health-care seeking behavior in dealing with their physical, psychological, and social and relational problems. On the other hand, informal-personal health-care seeking behavior was used by the respondents in addressing their reproductive health problems. Moreover, all of the barriers were recognized by the respondents but only in minimal extent. In addition, this study found out that there are no significant relationship between the barriers and the formal health-care seeking behaviors. Lastly, Campus-based Health Services Program was proposed based on the findings of this study. Other editions:
