ABSTRACT: The study was designed to know the lived experiences of adolescent orphans utilizing a qualitative, descriptive phenomenological design. Purposive sampling was applied based on criteria set by the researchers. There were six (6) respondent with ages ranging from 14-18, all coming from Manila Boystown situated at Parang, Marikina City. Three (3) were males from boy's unit, while the other three (3) were females from girl's unit of the said institution respectively. It utilized a self-made interview guide to ensure rich sharing by the participants and to make sure that all areas of interest have been covered. The gathered data were analyzed using Collaizi's Method of Data Analysis. The researchers have extracted six themes from the interview. The first theme, Abandoned and Neglected tackled that all of the participants are either abandoned or neglected as the reason for being in the orphanage. Second theme, Happy yet Longing. Most of the participants accepted that they are orphan but they still long for their real family. Third, Education as a Key to the Outside World. Most participants view education as a key for a better future outside the orphanage. Fourth, A Struggle Trust and Mistrust. All of the participants have issue with regard to giving trust to other people. Fifth, Repining for Complete Family. All of the participants hope to have a family of their own. Last, Typical Teenager in a Routinary Life. The participants are like typical teenagers who experience physical, emotional and psychosocial changes. A conceptual model of the lived experiences of adolescent orphans has been made.
