Action note: In: Summary: ABSTRACT: BACKGROUND: Defining the term kifestyle would be summed up as the typical way of life of an individual, group or culture. An individual's health depends a lot on their lifestyle. It cannot forgo the fact that maintaining a healthy physically and mentally may lead to a longer fruitful life. Maintenance of one's hygiene, body fitness and food regulation denotes a healthier physical lifestyle. Interestingly, according to some studies it prved that if a child has a mother who practices a healthy lifestyle, this child will be more likely to become healthy and adopt the same lifestyle. For instance, high income parents are more likely to eat healthy food, have time to exercise, and provide the best living condition to their children. OBJECTIVE: The purpose of this study is to describe and correlate the individual lifestyle that is commonly seen in Barangay 654 residents and how it affects each individual's health and occurrence of common diseases most notably lung and heart problems, as well as DM, and other related diseases. DESIGN: Descriptive study was designed to achieve more information about the characteristics within particular field of the study. It aimed to observe, describe and document certain aspects of situation as it naturally occurs. METHODS: The researchers prepared a questionnaire to be used in conducting the survey. The researchers coordinated with the barangay officials regarding the demographics in Brgy. 654 and asked permission to conduct the survey. Researchers coordinated also in barangay health center regarding the numbers of morbidities present in that population. The researchers went to the are and disseminated the questionnaire to the respondents. Before dissemination, partipants were asked to sign the informed consent. The questionnaire was explained first before the researchers let the partipants responded. The researchers facilitated in the answering the questionnaire so that the data will be collected is consistent throughout the research study. Then, the data was collected, interpreted and transcribed into tables and graphs. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: Majority of the respondents are 31 - 40 years old, female, have a height of 61 - 70 inches and weigh 52 - 60 kg. Majority of the respondents of Barangay 654 reported exisatence of hereditary disease frequently seen in the population such as Hypertension. Diabetes, Mellitus, Lung Disease and Heart Disease. Majority of the respondents of Barangay 654 are unaware if they have existing morbidities, currently unemployed, only doing light activities, eat 3 times every day and seldom eat fruits, vegetables and junk foods, eat carbohydrates, proteins and fatty foods on a regular basis. Half of the respondents do not engage in alcohol drinking; twenty-five percent of the total sample is occasional alcoholic beverage drinker, while the other 25% is regular alcoholic drinker.
