Action note: In: Summary: ABSTRACT:Functional Gait is one of the many aspects considered in rehabilitating Patient with Stroke. The purpose of this case report is to describe and demonstrate the effects given by Kinesio Tape when included in an intervention for improveent of functional gait. The subject described in the study presented with Right hemiparesis and impaired functional ambulation limited by Right foot drop and spastic foot with a grade of 2 in Modified Ashworth Scale of Spasticity. The subject's intervention consisted of four weeks of physical therapy that includes functional training, balance and gaittraining focusing on facilitating ankle dorsiflexors and relaxation of plantarflexors. These are combined with application of Kinesio Tape over anterior leg and ankle plantaflexors. Those are combined with application of Kinesio Tape over anterior leg and ankle for facilitating ankle dorsiflexors and over posterior leg inhibiting spastic ankle plantaflexors. The results of the study revealed improvements with an increase in score of Functional Gait Assessment with 17/30 as well as a 2-7 point increase in Dynaic Gait Index. A decrease in score by 1.2 seconds in Timed Up and Go Test and a one level lower in grading of Modified Ashworth scale of Spasticity. The results of the study support Kinesio Tape as adjunct in gait training of patients with chronic stroke stroke with hemiparesis. Future researchers should investigate for the comparison of an experimental group with Kinesio Tape and a control group with only conventional Physical Therapy program, Keywords: Kinesio Tape, Stroke, Functional Gait, Foot drop Other editions:
