ABSTRACT: The study determined the level of knowledge, health belief and compliance of pregnant mothers to prenatal care in the depressed barangays of District II of Manila. Specifically, the study answered the demographic profile of the respondents in terms of age, civil status, educational attainment, employment status and gross family income. Furthermore, the obstetrics profile of the pregnant mothers was also determined in terms of number of pregnancy, start of health information. The significant relationship between the demographic and obstetrics profile of the respondents and knowledge, health belief and compliance was recognized individually. A descriptive-correlational research and purposive sampling was utilized in the study. It also made use of a four-part questionnaire and were as follows: the demographic and obstetric profile of the pregnant mothers, the level of knowledge in regard to prenatal care, the level of health belief that the pregnant mothers. The statistical methods utilized in the study were weighted mean and Chi square. The findings were that majority of the respondents and primigravida, on their third trimester of pregnancy, started their prenatal at the first trimester, most have never had pregnancy related complications and used hospitals as their source of health information. Thus concluded that using a 0.05 level of significance, there was significant relationship between the demographic and obstetric profile of the respondents with the level of knowledge, health belief and compliance of the respondents.
