Action note: In: Summary: ABSTRACT: The study aimed to investigate the correlation between interpersonal relationships specifically that of the mother and the father as it relates to adolescent self-efficacy and academic performance. Samples were 100 sophomore regular block students of Far Eastern University chosen through purposive sampling. The results of the study were as follows: (1) generally moderately positive relationship was observed in the respondents in terms of relationships with their mothers and female peers and average relationships with the father, male peers and teachers. (2) Significant difference was found in the relationship of adolescents with their parents and peers showing that in general, respondents regardless of gender relate slightly better with females than males. (3) No support was found that interpersonal relationship with teacher correlates with self-efficacy and academic performance. Self-efficacy is likewise found to have no significant influence on academic performance. (4) Mother interpersonal relationship is inversely correlated with academic performance, while father interpersonal relationship is found to be directly correlated with self-efficacy.
