It also showed some examples of such music and different kinds of indigenous musical instruments and their characteristics. It also tackled the cultural organizations' programs in promoting Philippine Indigenous Music. The significance of Philippine Indigenous Music to the Philippine culture and to the lives of every Filipino was emphasized through this study. ABSTRACT : The research focused on the need to promote Philippine Indigenous Music as a cultural heritage of the country. It discussed the importance of such music in faith, rituals, and significant events such as marriage, birth, planting, harvesting, death, etc. of the Natives. It also showed some examples of such music and different kinds of indigenous musical instruments and their characteristics. It also tackled the cultural organizations' programs in promoting Philippine Indigenous Music. The significance of Philippine Indigenous Music to the Philippine culture and to the lives of every Filipino was emphasized through this study. It is of great importance to know the country's indigenous music because through this, one is brought closer to knowing and understanding one's true identity.
