The researchers gathered that there is no Rastafarian movement in the Philippines, therefore, there is no direct relationship or a link between reggae music and marijuana usage in the Philippines. ABSTRACT: Reggae music entered the Philippines during the late seventies bringing along with its rich history and culture. Now, as reggae surfaces into the mainstream and becomes more accepted, a part of its history and culture becomes more pronounced. Reggae is associated with marijuana use in its birthplace, Jamaica. This study delves into the association of reggae and marijuana use in the Philippine context and if reggae has probable influence on marijuana usage among its listeners.
