Action note: In: Summary: ABSTRACT: This research study determined the emergence of gay lingo in FM radio stations and its impact to the listeners. The researchers studied the three radio stations namely the 90.7 Love Radio, 91.5 Energy FM, and 101.1 Yes! FM, but only focused on the radio personnel who are using gay lingo as medium of expression in their segments, and those who have the knowledge about the said subject which is gay lingo. The results found out that the incorporation of gay lingo in a particular radio station could create an impact to the listeners in terms of awareness, understanding, comprehension and application. At the end of the study, the researchers found out that gay lingo really has an impact to the listeners. Listeners who hear gay terms in radio tend to understand and comprehend it. However, the listeners would not be able to understand and use all the terms they hear most of the time. This showed that sometimes miscommunication can occur between the listeners and disc jockeys who are incorporating gay lingo. Other editions:
