This study discussed the following Korean Telenovela adaptation in the local television programming : Lovers in Paris, Only You, My Girl, Full House, Stairway to Heaven, All About Eve and Ako si Kim Sam Soon. This study aimed to study the emergence of Philippine adaptation of Korean Telenovelas. This study also answered the following questions: (1) How did the Korean Telenovela adaptations evolve in Philippine television?; (2) What were the bases of ABS-CBN and GMA Network in their selection of Korean telenovela for local adaptation?; (3) How does the original differ from the adapted version in terms of Storyline, Characters and Casting and Production Design? To answer the aforementioned questions, the researchers employed the quantitative method by using interviews as process of gathering information from the two major television networks in the country that produced Philippine adaptation of Korean telenovelas. The two networks are ABS-CBN and GMA Network. The study revealed that : (1) after the success of imported telenovelas from America, Latin America, Taiwan and Korea in the country, the trend of adapting into Philippine setting in the country's television Industry; (2) GMA Network has certain criteria in choosing Korean telenovelas to be adapted. First and foremost, what's important is they consider the performance of the original Korean telenovela. It's important to the network that the Korean telenovela has rated well and popular among their viewers. They also consider the story for it must be adaptable into Philippine setting. Lastly, they consider the cost; (3) There are parts of the Original Korean Telenovela that were changed on its adaptation although there are things that were retained. Some of the changes done are with the characters, production design, values and the story line adapting on the taste of the Filipino audience. Other editions:
