Action note: In: Summary: The study aimed to determine and assess health challenges for Non-Communicable Diseases (NCD) among members of the faculty, staff and administrators in Higher Educational Institutions (HEI) within the University belt areas, particularly for member institutions of the U-belt Consortium and promote programs for improvement of health. Based on the findings of the study, a wellness programs among the selected Higher Educational Institutions (HEI) had been developed. Descriptive-comparative and correlative research was the method adopted and survey questionnaire was utilized as tool. A 40-item researcher-made questionnaire was given to the faculty, administrative staff and administrators of the selected HEI from the period covering Summer, 2015 to 1st Semester of SY 2015-2016. Likert Scale was used by the respondents of the study in answering the survey questionnaire. Findings from the data gathered were encoded and tabulated using the Statistical Packages for the Social Sciences (SPSS). The findings of the study revealed that all of the respondents were at risk for developing cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, cancer and chronic respiratory diseases as forms of the NCDs. The respondents of the study perceived the current status of health promotion action areas in their respective workplaces as good. The health promoting lifestyle indicators ranked lowest by the respondents paved the way for the development of a Wellness Program in the workplace that aimed to further maintain and enhance the utilization of the health promotion action areas in their respective school and focus on areas which are to be strengthened. In this light, a Wellness Wheel for a School Setting was conceptualized as the foundational framework in strengthening implementation of its health programs that covers continuous assessment, diagnosis, implementation, intervention, monitoring of health risk assessment and progress, evaluation and policy development. For future researches, it would be better if a non-interested group conduct the assessment and evaluation of the extent of utilization of the health promotion action areas in the workplace and regular health risk assessment not only of the respondents shall be considered. This can be incorporated as part and parcel of the Annual Medical Exam or Physical Examination by the School Clinic. Other parameters similar to the WHO STEPS Approach for Health Risk Assessment can be included as well in an educational environment particularly in the areas of health promotion and illness prevention.
