ABSTRACT: This study aims to conduct a comparative analysis on hiring of agency hired employee and contractual employee of Kawasaki Heavy Industries Design and Technical Service, Inc. in order to incur significant savings in terms of hiring, salary and would somehow provide better performance. It quantifies the differences of the two types of employment in terms of hiring, salary and performance. The researcher gathered data from the Administration Department and Engineering Department from the said corporation. Questionnaires were used to evaluate the performance of agency hired employees and contractual employee and to obtain any other important information. The researcher used statistical tools on the comparison of the average performance between the two types of employment to validate the result. The study concludes that the hiring and salary agency hired employees is faster and more expensive respectively than contractual employee. But in terms of hiring rate it is more expensive to hire contractual employee. There is no significant difference, however, on the average performance between agency hired employee and contractual employee. The researcher recommends that agency hired employees be employed for projects that are short-term. It is also recommended that further study be conducted to further determine the differences of the two types of employment in terms of rate of employee turnover, and other parameters not included in this study.
