ABSTRACT: This research investigates the multifaceted impact of Binondo businesses on Manila’s economic development, addressing the contributions of these businesses to the city’s economic growth. The study provides an overview of Binondo’s historical and economic significance, highlighting its role as a key center for trade and commerce in Manila and emphasizing the necessity of understanding the impact of these businesses on the city’s economic development as Manila evolves into a modern urban center. It also reviews the existing literature and studies on employment creation, income generation, government strategies and enterprise development, establishing the theoretical framework and identifying the research gap. The research outlines the methodology, detailing the data collection methods, the statistical tools used, and how the data gathered from the survey among Binondo business owners and stakeholders will be analyzed to assess the impact of their businesses on Manila’s economic development. The findings of this research will have significant implications for policymakers, business owners, and economic planners, offering insights into how government policies and business strategies can be optimized to support the growth of Binondo businesses and further stimulate the local economic development.
