ABSTRACT: STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM: In motorcycles, basic and cheap security system only provides alarm, Physical type counter measures are also utilized to avoid motor napping like padlocks, disk break lock and other more which are for theft prevention but still not safe enough for it can easily be destroyed. In the Philippines, motorcycle is one of the easiest transportations today and studies show that it has been becoming the most common means of travelling. It is one of the cheapest and most convenient mode of transportation but unfortunately, it is also easy to steal, disassemble and ship as parts. Motorcycle theft in the country has increased over the years and countless of their modus operandi has been recorded as motorcycle industry went boom. Statistics show that the average motor vehicle theft rate was at level of 13.4 cases for every 100,000 Filipinos the past few years. Motor napping has become a great problem of the society. Even though, the authorities are said to be trying their best to stop thieves, it is still at the top list of crimes occurring outside our house every day. RESEARCH METHODOLOGY: In order for the researchers to come up with reliable data, two methods are used in conducting this study, interview and experimental method. Relevant questions are constructed and distributed in a specific number of interviews with common elements and factors that is for the researcher within the area of effect of the researcher’s proposed project. Answer to these questions are rated and interpreted for the researcher to evaluate and have a tangible data that correlates to what they think about the project and their opinion about the importance of it. Experimental method, on the other hand, is where the researcher will apply theoretical principles on the process of creating a prototype of the proposed project and presenting it to panel. The panel are known for their respective field of expertise that will help to create a conclusion and recommendation for the project. SUMMARY OF FINDINGS: Theft in motorcycle has been increasingly rapidly throughout the years. There have been many attempts to get the situation controlled, such as implementation of the different advocacies against motornapping. Yet, these efforts are insufficient. With the intention this dilemma, the group has decided to create a project designed and drafted to combine existing motorcycle security system and adapt car security systems. CONCLUSION: The researchers were able to integrate sensors, microcomputers and microcontrollers. As the research draws to a close, the researchers can therefore conclude that they were able to come up with a system that detects may vibration or motion within the area of the motorcycle. The system prevents an unknown individual from starting the motorcycle when the security system is activated. Through the channel relay, the capacitor discharge ignition will be shorted once the system is turned on. Thus, the engine will be immobilized. Whenever the sensors were triggered, voice alert system and flashing lights are used. The people around the vicinity of the motorcycle are easily notified that someone has been disturbing the vehicle. The entire project is controlled through the mobile application developed by the researchers. With the help of their online database, firebase, the location of the motorcycle can be monitored in a specific period of time. In addition, images taken by the serial camera can also be retrieved. Through this system, the mobile application will be helpful in preventing the motorcycle from being stolen using different security measures. RECOMMENDATION: • GSM Shield Sim808 can be used. It is a two in one function module that is similar to other GSM Module but with added functionality of GPS navigation with 22 tracking and 66 acquisition channels. • Make functional use of the other parts of the motorcycle like its horn or lights as an additional warning system for the theft preventive and use two speakers for better alarming sound. • Research other sensors as alternative for piezoelectric ceramic transducers which will give a more accurate reading of movement detection on the motorcycle. • The web application may use to sync location logs and images stored in the mobile application. • The owner must regularly check the load balance of the GSM module. It is advisable to register the mobile number to a post-paid SIM card. • The camera in the system, if possible can serve as a surveillance camera for better security and recovery system. • The motorcycle must have a sufficient battery supply and a better alternator for first charging of the motorcycle’s battery when it is often used. • Other better camera can be used which will capture better images and will save faster.
