In this age of digital transformation, cashless transactions are growing in popularity and are beneficial to the end user experience. However, employees who are exposed to these technological advancements are mostly in charge of managing them, and there may be concerns about how this may impact them at work. Using a form of quantitative research, this study explores how McDonald's España employees' workload is affected by cashless payment systems. To determine how cashless transactions affect staff performance and workplace efficiency, information was gathered from 50 respondents at the McDonald's España branch in Manila. According to the results, cashless payment systems are generally advantageous since it simplified workload by expediting processes. Key elements that respondents found to be very helpful in their daily tasks included convenience, transaction speed, a decrease in work-related stress, customer complaints, and cash shortage. However, it's also considered that the industry's growing technological developments may pose employment threats. The study also pointed out areas that needed improvement, such as increased system efficiency and staff training to handle technological difficulties to better manage customer complaints. To obtain a broader perspective on the effects of cashless payment systems on staff workloads and overall operational efficiency, it is advised that future study examine the implications of these technologies in other quick-service restaurants or industries.
