This study explores public perceptions of restored versus preserved churches in Metro Manila, focusing on how these approaches to heritage conservation influence the cultural, historical, and spiritual significance of church sites. The research aims to understand the factors that lead residents and tourists to favor either restored or preserved churches, how people respond to these sites, and the perceived contribution of these churches to Filipino culture and heritage. A survey was conducted with 240 respondents from Metro Manila, gathering data on their opinions regarding the aesthetic, historical authenticity, accessibility, and community engagement of both restored and preserved churches. The findings indicate that while both restoration and preservation play essential roles in showcasing Filipino culture, preferences vary depending on factors such as historical authenticity, accessibility, and the perceived value of maintaining original materials and structure. Restored churches were generally favored for their aesthetic appeal and ability to provide a more functional experience for visitors, while preserved churches were valued for their authenticity and stronger sense of tradition. The study reveals that the local community's pride in the restoration of churches, along with the impact of historical Information and accessibility, plays a key role in shaping public perception.
