Given the competitive environment in the bus transportation industry, this strategic management paper aims to apply strategic management principles, tools, and techniques in providing for the best alternative strategy for the company to stay in the competition. This paper starts with an industry analysis which shows the current status of the bus transport system and identified the close competitors of the company to the specific areas it serves. Followed by external and internal environment analyses to arrive at the most viable strategy that suits the company to sustain and eventually exceed its current position in the market. The strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats identified from the internal and external scanning along with other relevant findings were essential in the strategy formulation. Corollary, following the several analyses conducted using relevant strategic management tools and frameworks, the Quantitative Strategic Planning Matrix was used for the strategy selection process. Finally, this paper was able to identify product/technology development as the strategy that could be pursued by the company in order to ultimately increase its revenue and expand its share in the market.

GV Florida Transport, Inc. is one of the major bus companies catering bus transportation services in Northern Luzon. Given the competitive environment in the bus transportation industry, this strategic management paper aims to apply strategic management principles, tools, and techniques in providing for the best alternative strategy for the company to stay in the competition.
