ABSTRACT : The development of positive attitudes toward physical activity is one of the major objectives of both elementary and secondary school physical education programs. As stated by Le Masurier and Corbin, Quality physical education represents the best opportunity to provide all children with physical activity experiences that promote physical activity now and for a lifetime. Additionally, there is extensive scientific evidence supporting the role of physical activity in preventing disease and promoting a healthy lifestyle, so the concept of instilling positive attitudes toward lifetime physical activity is an important one for this profession. Unfortunately, in recent years even more inappropriate physical education games and practices have had to he inducted into the Physical Education Hall of Shame, so that physical educators can understand why such activities are to be avoided and they can become more reflective and thoughtful practitioners of their profession. This article analyzes seven physical education games, activities, and teaching practices that are new Hall of Shame inductees. 56
