Action note: In: Summary: ABSTRACT: The study aimed to find the correlation of the academic performance with the scholastic aptitude rating of differential aptitude test of freshman students of the City of Malabon University for the Academic Year 2004-2005. The study paved its way towards the enhancement of the admission policies in the university. Its utilized descriptive normative through the documentary analysis of DAT. Described the academic performance based on the standard of promotion and retention of the university as compared with the scholastic aptitude rating of DAT based on its norms. Purposive sampling was used, since it only included freshman students with complete data-total of 862 samples. The study was conducted to the freshman students of the City of Malabon University Academic Year 2004-2005. Data were treated at 0.05 significance level. Problems 1 and 2 were answered by means of averaging, problem 3, by employing Pearson r which is further tested for significance by z-test, and problem 4, by using analysis of variance (ANOVA). The study found significant relationship between academic performance and scholastic aptitude rating of Differential Aptitude Test. This implies that the instrument is valid in predicting the potential abilities of the students hence can be continuously utilized as instrument for admission. Other editions:
