ABSTRACT : This paper attempts to elucidate on the realities faced of OFW's in Bienvenido Santos' short stories. It traces the motivations of characters in Santos' stories and presents supporting evidence from social, historical , economic and political perspective. Furthermore , it aims to see connections in order to build a concept of the Filipino diaspora in Santos' stories and hypothesizes its future potential in Philippine Literature. 56
