ABSTRACT : This paper aims to study the noontime show Wowowee from the perspective of its audience in the era of Diaspora. Using selected materials available on the Internet, the paper attempts to read the dynamics of the relationship between selected Filipino fans, who are based overseas, and the program at large in order to uncover hidden discourses of globalization and decolonization. Wowowee serves as an agent of what the author describes as a 'reconnection' to the country left by Filipinos in Diaspora as well as a mediator in fulfilling a project of re-imagination, which the author dubs the 'continuously imagined collective.' 56
