ABSTRACT : This study was undertaken to determine the current status of the RLE program and the problems encountered by student-nurses, clinical instructors, and staff nurses at the Ospital ng Sampaloc (OSAM), Manila. Specifically , this investigation considered the respondents' assessment of the three groups of respondents on the current status of the RLE program and the results served as basis for the Dedicated Education Unit which is believed to benefit both the hospital and different affiliated nursing schools. The descriptive - correlational method of research vis-a-vis Focus Group Discussion (FGD), the self-made, validated instrument was used as the instrument to gather the data from 105 graduating nursing students, 26 clinical instructors. and 54 staff nurses at OSAM. Percentage , weighted mean, and ANOVA with Turkey Kramer were used in the presentation and in the interpretation of the data as answer to the problems raised in this study. Findings showed that the overall current status of RLE in terms of effectiveness and efficiency is achieved where in the utilization of appropriate feedback mechanism and ration of student to clientele based on the objectives and the capacity of the student are the only inidcators that received and almost achieved rating. Staff nurses are the most critical group while the Clinical Instructors are the least critical group on the assessment of the status of RLE. 56
