ABSTRACT : This paper compares two systems of government - the presidential system with that of the parliamentary form of government. It is intended to serve as a basis for evaluating the proposal to shift from the former which we are presently following to the latter which is recommended as an alternative form of governance. It looks into the supposed strength and weakness of each system and examines the political forces underlying them. 56
