ABSTRACT : The study was done to identify the solid waste management practices of a community in Quezon City. The basis of the study is the implementation of Republic Act number 9003, which includes the requirements for the proper management of solid waste. Three hundred ninety-three (393) households were involved in the study. Descriptive data was elicited from a questionnaire and the answers were triangulated with observations and unstructured or free flowing interview. Results revealed that while a big percentage of the households observed proper waste disposal and segregation practices, many still need to properly dispose and manage human waste. Considering how important it was to internalize proper practices relative to solid waste management, recommendations for improvement were formulated. 56
