ABSTRACT: There are a number of applications or software that can be used to enlarge an image. And most of us know how to use some of the popular ones. The thing is not all of us are familiar with the techniques that were used to develop such innovations. We are used to resizing images from our cellphones, pads, computers, digital cameras but are we aware that the process underlying here is resampling method? Resampling an image is what the proponents wanted to study to better understand the importance of in image processing. The proponents settled on enhancing the bicubic interpolation not only because it is the best algorithm settled on enhancing the bicubic interpolation not only because it is the best algorithm so far in image resampling but is also one of the complex methods in the field. Through critical analysis and series of simulations, the proponents were able to determine the problems on the enhanced algorithm which paved the foundations to further enhance it. The study is only about series of observations, critical thinking and enhancement of the algorithm. The next chapters are a walk through the process on how the proponents arrived with the problems and how they succeeded to meet their objectives.
