ABSTRACT: This study primarily aims to identify which practice/s of accountancy most of the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila (PLM), Bachelor of Science in Accountancy (BSA) graduates proceeded into since their graduation, with secondary inquiry to the factors that led them to such sector, While these study purpose to benefit graduating students and future researchers, alike, it also benefits the prospective employers of accounting graduates in evaluating which factors affect someone's organizational choice. In addition, it is highly beneficial for the faculty, allowing them to trace and detect the current employment preferences of their previous students. The identified variables for this study are the 105 respondents demographic profiles (age and gender), academic profiles (year of graduation, month and year of passing the CPA licensure examination, further studies pursued), the different accounting sectors, and the factors that affect their current choice of employment. The instrumentation that was exercised was purely electronic in nature; the researchers made use of an online survey application. After employing the professional remarks of the two validators and removing some of the identified vague items in the questionnaire, the researchers then made use of social media platforms and/or electronic mails to distribute their approved and improved questionnaires. Nearly all of the items in the survey form were either choice-based or open-ended questions. In relation to this, the researchers also decided to conduct a descriptive method of research, which properly identifies the trend of a phenomenon such as the study at hand. Based on the results and findings, the trend of PLM BSA graduates over the past five years suggested that majority of them chose Public and Private Accounting over other sectors of accounting which is Government and Academe. During the first two years, graduates mostly preferred to participate in Public Accounting initially , but eventually in the following years they preferred Private Accounting. It was also found out that there were variations in factors that the respondents consider before choosing to be employed into certain sector. Most of them considered long-term career prospects, amount of remuneration, and good working conditions compared to other factors given. Additionally, the distribution of respondents among the accounting sectors are found out to be perfectly correlated with the factors considered by them in choosing their area of practice.
