BACHELOR OF SECONDARY EDUCATION MAJOR IN SOCIAL STUDIES.;ABSTRACT: This study was conducted with a primary concern to analyze the effectiveness of Makabayan Curriculum in terms of values development as perceived by the subject-teachers and senior students. The method used in this study was descriptive method. It utilized perception of constructed questionnaire-checklist. The school involved in this study was F.G. Calderon High School. All subject-teachers of Makabayan that handle senior students are used as teacher-respondents. The total numbers of teacher-respondents are 20. The teacher-respondents were teachers of Social Studies (AP). Values Education (EP), Technology and Livelihood (TLE) and Home Economics (HE) and Music, Arts, Physical Education and Health (MAPEH). The student-respondents are the senior students. The total numbers student-respondents are one hundred twenty (120), which is the twenty percent (20%) of actual total population of senior students, which is six hundred (600). The hypothesis that formulated was, there is no significant difference between the perception of the subject-teachers and the senior students to effectiveness of Makabayan Curriculum in developing values of the students. This study used the survey method using the copy questionnaire from the related study for the gathering of information about the perceptions of the respondents. This study used Three (3) statistical techniques, first, the Weighted Mean and second, the Grand Mean which was used to present the problem number 1. The weighted and grand mean computations were used to determine the frequency distribution and the over all descriptive rating of satisfaction rate of the respondents towards their perception on the values development. For problem number two, the third statistical technique used was the T-test. It was used to locate the difference between the perception of the subject-teachers and the senior students toward the values development of the senior students. CONCLUSION The following contains the statements of discoveries based from the findings of the study. According to the gathered data, we can conclude that. 1. The teachers perceptions is the same with students perception regarding the values development when they rated students values with satisfaction rate of often. 2. The general perceptions of the subject-teachers and seniors students are the same in all the ten behaviors as being values developed. 3. Makabayan Curriculum is effective in terms of the values development of the students because the result is positive. It is because the overall rating if Often (4 on the sale), which is very close to the scale of 5, the highest scale. RECOMMENDATION 1. Curriculum Planner - ask that before implementing a new curriculum, it must first undergo intensive study, evaluation and further testing. 2. Teachers - seek and research for more effective strategies that can enhance or develop more the values of the students through the lessons taught. 3. Students - ask to examine their personal characteristics in order to determine if they are well-developed individual who has good values and behaviors. 4. Future researchers - ask to broaden the extent of this research by making, a deeper study on the effectiveness of the Makabayan Curriculum in terms of the values development of the students and other factors that consider in evaluating the effectiveness of one curriculum.;Thesis (Undergraduate) Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila, 2007.
