<br/><br/>   Undergraduate Thesis:(B.S. Psychology)-  Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila, 2018.;ABSTRACT:  	This study aimed to explore the different perceptions on the culture of silence regarding mental health in the journalism industry of the 3rd and 4th year students of Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Bachelor of Arts in Communication major in Public Relations. A total of 14 respondents were interviewed and pre-selected using a self-report questionnaire. The results revealed that some young journalists prioritize their work more than their mental health, resulting in them having a hard time to even conceptualize the meaning of mental health. The fear of young journalists of being judged by the public results in them not talking about whatever it is they are feeling about the stories they are telling. Young journalists have been instilled with the notion that in order for them to advance in their careers, they must remain professional at all times, resulting in them carrying out unhealthy practices. The researcher suggests that young journalists should not fall into the common belief that journalists need to always remain stoic and unemot in order to maintain their credibility.
