<br/><br/> ABSTRACT:	  	Utang  na loob or debt of gratitude is a timeless practice observed among Filipinos where everyone is expected to possess it. Having that, this study was conducted to delve into the totality of what Utang na Loob is for Filipinos. This study included eighty (80) Filipino respondents from four (4) age brackets namely: adolescents (13 to 18 years old), young adults (19 to 39 yyears old), middle age (40 to 59 years old) and old age (60 years old and above). Data gathering was done through survey questionnaires, in-depth interviews and a focus group discussion. The collected data were then analyzed and it was revealed that the definition of the concept of utang na loob has been found to be the same for all age brackets. However, the kind of payment varies according to the responses, but the amount of payment had been in agreement, by all age bracket, to be unquantifiable. Responses that some debt of gratitude can be a lifetime. Across all the age brackets, an awareness of the Filipino trait that obligates a person to have debt of gratitude had been observed. The act of repaying on the other hand, is considered in accordance to the jurisdiction of the person in debt. The payment may be immediate, after a certain period of time, or a lifetime depending on the magnitude of how much the debr had been significant to the person. Lastly, the answer to the question of how much a debt of gratitude is quantified, valued and paid has been undetermined by the age brackets amking it priceless.
