(Sandata on Sakuna): May Nag Tweett: Filipino Tweets when Disaster Strikes; 5 N2 - ALDUB YOU, MA-ALDEN KITA: SA TAMANG PANAHON----ABSTRACT: The study conducted has an objective to know the perspective of various Filipino people across ages about the right time of intimate relationship with people's capability and right to love. The population used in gathering the data was composed of fourteen randomly selected respondents from five categories which are the parents, students (from elementary to college level), passersby in malls, non-professionals and professionals. The researchers collected the data by means of questionnaires and we were processed by organizing the data into domains and categories and analyzing the organized data. The data collected shows that various Filipino people have different perspective about wo have the righ to love and the right time to love. Some believe that everyone, regardless of age and gender, has the right to love. Other said that only people who are stable have the right to love. On the other hand, some consider that only individuals at the right age have the right to love that is when an individual have already wider knowledge and understanding about love. In terms of the things that love can do, the respondents said that they will do everything for their love which includes sacrificing, trusting, accepting, and understanding. The will of God is also put into consideration for their basis that shows the spirituality of the Filipinos.;ANG KALIGAYAHAN NI JUAN : EXPLORING THE FILIPINO FAMILIES CONCEPT OF HAPPINESS FROM DIFFERENT SOCIOECONOMIC STATUS-----ABSTRACT: Filipinos are known for being naturally happy. Strong typhoon of massive drought, crisis after crisis, calamities then and now, Filipinos are still smiling and can manage to still laugh it all off. Filipinos are naturally born blissful and spontaneous and the individuals who always look in the brighter side of life. The current study aims to know the concept of happiness among Filipino families from different socioeconomic status. The study also seeks to distinguish whether the concept happiness of Filipino families differ since they come from diverse socioeconomic classes. In order to gather the necessary data, there are six (6) Filipino families from different socioeconomic status wherein there are two (2) families from each class which categorized by the number of children in the family. The current research conducted a semi-strucutred interview along with a researcher-made questionnaire as a way to collect response from the participants. This study concluded that the concept of happiness for Filipino families is having an intact relationship with their beloved family. Moreover, this study also discovered that regardless of the socioeconomic standing of the family these Filipino families are happy, contended and fulfilled as long as they are living together harmoniously.;BEAUTY IS IN THE EYE OF THE BEHOLDER: THE CONCEPT OF BEAUTY AMONG SINGLE AND MARRIED FILIPINO MEN-----ABSTRACT: The idea of this study originated from the preconceived notion of most people that males tend to look more on the physical attributes of women to define beauty. This study is qualitative in nature and it aims to determine the concept of beauty among single men and married men and distinguish if there is any similarities and differences among these two groups. There were a total of twelve (12) selected individuals who participated in study. The primary researchers conducted face-to-face interviews with all the participants. The interviews were analyzed and it revealed three domains (characteristics of a woman, perception of beauty and the influence of beauty). The results provide partial data to support that men do not only give notice to looks but give more importance to the character of the person. The strength of the study is that it provides objective data concerning how Filipino males perceive beauty. Limitation of the study is that is has a limited number of participants for it to represent the whole population of Filipino men. Implication of the study were discussed for futher improvements.;S.O.S. (SANDATA ON SAKUNA): MAY NAG TWEET FILIPINO TWEETS WHEN DISASTER STRIKES....ABSTRACT: According to the Uses and Gratification theory, a person uses a particular kind of media for the reason of gaining satisfaction. When applied in the context of social media, the study aims to know and understand the usefulness of Twitter to the students during typhoon. 20 selected respondents from Intrmuros - based schools were invited to answer a six-item questionnaire and an interview to have an analysis. The research found that Twitter serves as the medium source of information for spreading the news during typhoon. A large portion of the respondents are satisfied with the informaion Twitter shows, they also gave the feedback during disaster such as typhoon, which proved the Uses and Gratification ER -
