Executive Summary a. Business Description Agricultural products are essential to the needs of all beings. In Philippines, there are many agricultural products cultivated, and some of them are being exported to other countries. According to the Department of Agriculture, aside from coconutoil and its products, bananas and pineapple are classified as the country's top agricultural exports. In the year 2019, the bananas reached an amount of 1.95 billion dollars, 1.64 billion dollars in 2020, and in 202,920 million dollars. Meanwhile, grape production is also cultivated in the Philippines, specifically in the Ilocos Region. The establishment of GrapeLux Farm Ltd. along with other known farms such as Calica, Lomboy, and Gapuz grape farms in Caba, La Union would be a huge contribution to the agricultural growth in terms of supplying grape products in nearby provinces and cities. As stipulated in this paper, the proponents would like to contribute to the growth of the agriculture sector specifically on the performance of grape production. The production of grapes in the country and its situation give enlightenment in establishing a farm business that will significantly provide a production capacity to cater to the demand of the local markets In the long run, the GrapeLux Farm Ltd. will offer a diverse range of grapes such as Catawba, Brazilian, Hybrid, and Black Ribier. Furthermore, the owners and their contribution in terms of financing the entire farm business would be the foundation of managing the operations and internal control of the production. The GrapeLux Farm Ltd. is devoted to ensuring the best quality of grape products to the target market and customers. Furthermore, as part of the farm's mission and vision in the agriculture sector, the GrapeLux Farm Ltd. would contribute significantly and have an impact on the community and a wide range of economies. b. Market Analysis Who are GrapeLux Farm's Ltd. potential target market and competitors? What are the opportunities and threats to the establishment of the GrapeLux Farm Ltd.? What are the factors that will potentially affect the demand and supply of products of GrapeLux Farm Ltd.? How will the farm business strategize its product to reach the customers? In addition to that, the fruit distributors' suppliers of grapes, their frequency of grape purchase, their estimated volume of grape purchase from 2018 to 2022, their duration of grape stocks, their acceptable price for grapes, and their willingness to switch to GrapeLux Farm Ltd. as their grape supplier are obtained via survey question naire. With this, the proponents were able to identify the key factors of distributors in choosing their suppliers, such as price, quality, and place. In its first year of production, GrapeLux Farm Ltd. will be able to contribute to the market supply with 5,940 kilograms in the first year, and it will grow by 5% annually, which is the average growth of the stated competitors. d. Technical Feasibility The technical aspect outlines the standard for planting and cultivating of grapes that would be sold in the market The process will start with soil management, which includes plowing, harrowing, and digging of land to provide a suitable seedbed for farming. It is followed up by actual planting and cutting of the mother of vines to ensure a healthy and robust production. After that, the process is called vineyard management which refers to taking care of the general crops. The next process involves pruning or cutting the unwanted branches and leaves that hinder the grapes from growing in the correct direction. The last step is harvesting, where the farmer gets the tip of the fruit and uses it as a sample to know if the grape is ready to be harvested. The paper also includes the types of pests and diseases that commonly affect grapes. The following are crown gall, grape mealybug, and black rot. Intervention or treatment is vital to prevent the loss of the stated types of pests and diseases. The proponents also chose San Carlos, Caba in La Union as the location of GrapeLux Farm Ltd. GrapeLux Farm Ltd. consists of an office, dormitory, equipment, and storage room, which are reflected in the layout worked out by the architect. Moreover, waste management is also developed for business sustainability efforts to operate the farm without compromising the people and the environment. Lastly, a purchasing schedule is created for the propagation of grapes and is used for farm sustainability and profitability activities. e. Management Feasibility The managementaspect outlines Grape Lux Farm Ltd.'s mission and vision. The business is structured as a Limited Liability Partnership or (LLP). In this arrangement, partners contribute assets, money, land, and livestock and are only financially responsible for their agreed-upon portion of the farm's debt or liabilities. The proponents have also ensured business legality by registering with various government agencies, including the SEC, BIR, SSS, and PhilHealth. In addition, an organizational chart has been created to map out the different roles, positions, and departments within the organization. Furthermore, the compensation and benefits provided by the business, detail the basic pay, sick days, and health Insurance. There is also a set organizational policy that all workers must adhere to. f. Financial Feasibility The financial aspect details the projected capital investment required for the business, set at 1,500,000.00. The amountwill be equally contributed by the eight partners, with each providing P187,500.00 which comes from their respective Savings accounts. Additionally, the business is set to officially commence operations on January 1, 2024.
