<br/><br/> Abstract  The aim of this study, therefore, is to provide operational strategies for the amelioration of supply chain deficiencies, like production delays and technological failures, arising from Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) in Manila, Philippines. The investigation, whose design is quantitative, intends to analyze the correlational aspect of the relationship among characteristics of a company, such as workforce size, industry type, and years of operation, together with the extent of supply chain problems. Descriptive statistics together with Pearson's Chi-Square test revealed that production delay, which is a major problem for SMEs, is evident with those smaller SMEs or belonging to the food and retail industry, and while technological failure exists in SMEs, it is not so recognized as an issue for SMEs. Solutions like process optimization, workforce improvements, and technological investments have been endorsed, but implementation of such solutions is difficult. The above study also revealed that there isn't really any significant association between the company profile and the supply chain deficiencies, as most of the supply chain deficiencies would be widespread among different types of SMEs. The theoretical implications thus highlight the need for human and technological resource integration in taking away operational challenges. Besides, it brings to understanding SME owners, policymakers, and industry residents under which the efforts may be directed toward improving operational performance, cost-saving, and enabling better competitiveness in local markets. This contribution to the literature is on how financial and technological aspects affect supply chain effectiveness among SMEs and has wider implications for economic development in developing countries.
