A great number of Filipinos leave their home country due to several reasons, the most common being the seeking for better job opportunities and higher income. This thesis is written to better understand the factors affecting the emigration of Filipinos, specifically underemployment and GNI per Capita, and determine how significant each variables's impact is. According to an article by Hasnan (2019), several reasons why Filipinos leave the country is due to lack of jobs and low incomes. Oftentimes Filipinos would opt working on jobs that are out of their degree just to pay the bills and feed themselves and their family. Additionally, the Gross National Income per Capita is the overall generated income per person in a country, hence if the GNI per capita is low, then the income of the people residing there is low as well. These two are taken into consideration to determine if it can be enough to make Filipinos choose to emigrate thus raising a question in its relation to the Rational Choice and Exchange Theory that focuses on the relationship of costs and rewards to nationalize a certain decision ER -
