A qualitative analysis was performed to find out the presence of alkaloids, saponins, steroids (cardenolides and bufanolides), flavonoids and tannins and polyphenols. The result was reported to find out what possible product Gisol plant can provide. Eighty percent ethyl alcohol was used as a solvent for extraction. The gisol plant leaves undergone different tests. For the presence of alkaloids three test was performed, prelimary test, confirmatory test and test for quarternary bases and/or amine oxide. Froth test was done to find out if saponin is present. Wilsatter cyaniding test and Bate Smith & Metcalf method was used for determination of the presence of flavonoids. For tannins and polyphenols, Gelatin test and ferric chloride test was conducted. Two tests namely, Keller-Killiani test and Libermann's test was used to determine the presence of steroids. Antimicrobial screening was also one it the Gisol plant leaves extract. The extraction of Gisol leaves gave 65% crude extract. The crude extract is just sufficient for the tests. It was found that alkaloids is present in the plant as well as for flavonoids and saponins. Positive results were obtained for steroids and anthraquinones. There is no zone of inhibition found against S. aureus among different concentration of the plant leaves extract ER -
