Zooplankton are sensitive to variations in water quality, and their body size, quantity, distribution, and composition are influenced accordingly. A study was conducted in Taal Lake to correlate the measured physicochemical parameters to the abundance, density, and diversity of zooplankton in the six sampling stations during March and April 2023. The lake conditions allowed for 5 genera under the Cladoceran, 4 genera under the Copepoda, and 3 genera under the Rotifera, with Ceriodaphnia being the most abundant zooplankton in Taal Lake during the collection period. Sampling station 3 (1,023,488 individuals; 23.82%) has the highest abundance and diversity (2.03), while station 4 (279801.42 individuals/m3; 24.29%) has the highest density. The month of March had higher abundance (2,434,952 individuals; 61.5%) and density (70226.65 individuals/m3; 59.39%), but April had more diversity (H'=1.96). Zooplankton abundance in all sampling stations was moderately negatively correlated with temperature during March (r=-0.65), moderately positive with salinity (0.65), and strongly positive with BOD (0.73). Only DO (r=0.70) correlates positively with abundance in April. Salinity had a strong and moderate correlation with density in both sampling periods (March: r=0.95; April: r=0.51), while pH and DO had the most significant negative correlation with density (March: r=-0.39; April: r=-0.66), while other parameters had no or weak correlation. Temperature (March r=0.59; April r=0.59) and Secchi depth (March r =-0.70; April r =-0.69) have the most significant positive and negative correlations with diversity. Overall, the findings showed that the ecological indices of zooplankton composition within the different sampling stations and between the sampling periods did not vary significantly.
