ABSTRACT: This research was conducted to improve the level of class participation through the use of manipulative. Qualitative and quantitative data collections were the methods that used in this study. Qualitative method was used for measuring the level of class participation of the students through rubrics to determine if there was an improvement in class participation after the intervention. For quantitative data collection, the researchers used oral form of assessment through recitation. To improve the class participation of the students in Mathematics, the researchers used manipulative as an intervention. As the researchers analyzed and interpreted the data that were collected from different sources, the result in evaluating the level of class participation for both samples in traditional teaching was excellent while in teaching with the use of manipulative, the result of the level of class participation of the sample1 was excellent and sample 2 was good. Based on the survey questionnaires, as the researchers computed the mean percentage of the answer, the level of the students participation increased.
