ABSTRACT: Fliptop is the first ever freestyle rap battle league in the Philippines which become a YouTube sensation during 2010. The rappers, seen in these videos, commonly use vulgar and curse words. This is alarming because most of their viewers are high school students. In connection, this study, entitled The Effects of Flip Top Phenomenon on Student Battlers Habits and Behaviors towards Their Peers, Teachers and Family Members: A Case Study, generally aimed to determine the FlipTop. Phenomenon's impacts on student battlers habits and behaviors towards the people around them. Five case participants from Quezon City and Manila were chosen through snow ball and purposive sampling technique Descriptive method was used in gathering the data. In-depth interviews and participant observation were also used. These were validated by the interviews with their peers, family member. Teachers, principals and guidance counselors. Experts on sociology, psychology and music were also interviewed to provide substantial insights about the study. McNamara Six Points Factor is the model in the data analysis. This means that even if one factor is not applicable to the gathered, it can still be used. Through this, the researchers ended up with these findings: 1) three case participants spent more time in Flip Top than in studying and helping in household chores; 2) all case participants were able to use curse words due to Flip Top; 3) four case participants choice of clothing and accessories were influenced by Flip Top; 4) three case subjects tried to imitate the haircut and hairstyle of the Flip Top icons; 5) three student battlers to prioritize Flip Top than giving time for studying; 6) three student battlers seldom made assignments, projects and other school works because they prioritized Flip Top battles rather than doing their task, 7) Flip Top distracted the case participants style in studying; 8) the case participants had different behaviors in terms of their respect towards their peers, teachers and family members, 9) three case participants showed that they tended not to follow rules at school because of their Flip Top activities; 10) four respondents were aggressive and/or passive towards their peers, teachers and family members; 11) three case subjects, Flip Top helped improve their patience towards their peers, teachers and family members; and (12) all case participants said that Flip Top helped develop their confidence.
