Abstract The national Museum Planetarium is one of National Museum's divisions and satellites that caters astronomical information through exhibits, shows, lectures, demonstrations and astronomical projections. The Planetarium was established on 1975, founded by former National Museum director Godofredo Alcasid Sr. and PAGASA member Maximo P. Sacro Jr. First Lady Imelda Marcos considered it as one of her priority projects that year. The Planetarium promotes astronomy and physical science among its audience especially students. Being the first Planetarium in the Philippines, the NMP is considered as a historically and educationally significant institution. However, people gradually fail to recognize its significance and their interest towards astronomy decreases as time goes by. There are many emerging modernized science museums in the country and in other parts of the world that is equipped with technologically advanced methods of showcasing science and astronomy. The Planetarium lags behind these innovations and sticks to its traditional ways of promoting science and astronomy. The researchers saw this as a ground to study about the Planetarium and construct an appropriate Public Relations campaign to uplift the Planetarium and put forth its significance. The study discusses about the level of awareness and perception of grade ten students regarding the Planetarium and its services. Descriptive evaluative research design was used for the study. The researchers conducted surveys and interviews among targeted key respondents and key informants who contributed to the information contained in the research. The survey results reflected that many high school students from Manila are not aware of the Planetarium and its services. The level of satisfaction of students who already went to the Planetarium was also measured as basis for recommendation for improvements for the Planetarium. Key respondents, on the other hand, came from the Planetarium, Natural Science Instruction and Supervision Section and Division of City Schools Manila. The researchers also used the Excellence theory to assess the help of stakeholders of the Planetarium in different aspects of the organization. The researchers also formulated recommendations based on the result of the conducted survey, interviews and research for the improvement of the Planetarium. Based on the content and result of the study, the researchers promulgated a Public Relations campaign that aims to put forward the significance of the Planetarium and heighten the publicity and prominence of the Planetarium as an educational institution. The campaign is composed of strategies that is geared towards its targeted public, the students and teachers.
