The algorithm generates facial terrain by means of a slightly modified midpoint displacement algorithm. It starts with a 2D grid then randomly generates terrain height from four seed values arranged in a grid of points so that the entire plane is covered squares. This particular study addressed the following problems that are found in the Diamond-Square Algorithm: (1) desired height of points cannot be attained except for the first corner points; (2) does not generate a flat surface on specific area, and (3) there will be points that get set either way too high or way too low which creates huge cone shapes. Prior to these problems, the researchers have conducted simulations in the terrain generation application to test the validity of the said problems. Moreover, the researchers also gathered and reviewed different researches, in the form of electronic publications, to support the presented problems in this research. In continuing the study, the researchers objective is to solve the presented problems by; (1) setting a desired height of points other than the four initialized height values; (2) producing a flat surface on the desired area, and (3) reducing the visibility of the cone-shaped points that is either too high or too low. Once the objective have been achieved, the enhanced Diamond-Square Algorithm will be incorporated in game applications. The researchers offer the following recommendations for future or related search of the study : (1) to fully reduce the visibility of the generated cone-shaped points, and (2) to be able to apply the algorithm in other applications aside from the game ER -
