ABSTRACT: The objective of this study is to formulate different liquid media from locally available raw materials for Candida tropicalis strains and to test the physical properties such as viscosity and surface tension surfactant it produced. The methodology of this study was divided into 4 parts: Culturing the microorganism, preparation of Culture media, measuring the microbial growth and testing the surfactant ability. The microbial growth was measured using the cell concentration estimation while the physical properties such as viscosity was measured using the Ostwald viscometer and surface tension using the capillary rise method. The analysis shows that there is no significant difference in the microbial growth of Candida tropicalis grown in three different liquid media, and the physical properties such as viscosity and surface tension of the surfactant produced.
