This technique is to be introduced as a new process in producing a porous bioceramic, a biocompatible material for bone replacements. It also aims to know which porous bioceramic will give the best result and be compared a designated standard material, a Fibula human bone. The collection of corals (Porites, cylindrical) was made at White Beach, Oriental Mindoro. The processing was done using a locally available wax that was melted and allowed to be absorbed by the coral to give a mould. Two compounds were used, a pure beta tri-calcium phosphate (B-TCP) and 80:20 tri-calcium phosphate/Hydroxyapatite (TCP/Hap). This porous bioceramic was tested for its physical properties such as the apparent pososity, bulk density, and compressive strength. The microcostructural test was also made to determine the pore size of the produce porous bioceramic. Results showed that the produced porous bioceramics are comparable to Fibula human bone. There is no significant difference between the produced bioceramics and the designated standard in terms of bulk density and compressive strength ER -
