ABSTRACT: This study is about the extraction, isolation and characterization of glycosides present in the crude extract of Nerium oleander L. (Adelfa) leaves and the formulation of a natural pesticide. The experimental method consists mainly of seven parts, namely: 1. Collection and Preparation of Raw Materials, 2. Decoction Method, 3. Cardenolide/Glycoside Detection, 4. Mortality Test of 10% crude extract, 5. Column Chromatography, 6. GC/MS, and 7. Formulation and Comparison of the Commercial and Formulated Pesticide Pesticides. Ethanolic extract yields 15% and gave a positive result in the color reaction method for the presence of glycosides. GC/MS identified and characterized Olean-12-ene as the active component in the oleander extract. Toxicity Tests showed that there is no significant difference between the formulated pesticide with that of the commercial pesticide.
