Biology) - Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila, 2005; 5; The study regarding Geometric Analysis of Body-form Variability of Chanos Chanos in Freshwater Bragy. San Jose, Paombong, Malolos, Bulacan and Saltwater Brgy. La Huerta, ParaƱaque City focused on allometry which is the measurement if the rate of growth of a part or parts of an organism relative to the growth of the whole organism and shape in size.; Seventy individual samples from each of the two sites were collected. The fish lengths and scale diameter were manually measured that traced the relationship of fish length to scale diameter. Water samples were gathered to find out if the pH of the freshwater and saltwater affects the growth of the fishers. Images were captured and the superimposition of landmark data followed. Different statistical analyses were performed using the PAST software to assess if there is a significant difference from among the samples of milkfish collected in freshwater and saltwater.; Microsoft Excel helped in obtaining that there was a positive allometry comparing the freshwater fish length by its scale diameter. A negative allometry was revealed when the saltwater fish length was compared to its scale diameter. This shows that it may be because of some environmental factors like pollution affected the growth or increase in size of the saltwater milkfishes. Moreover, with the use of a software it was proven that there was a significant difference in the body form variability of milkfish in the two different sites that revealed two morphological types, one which characteristically showed a moderate mid body contraction and expansion and two, characteristically possessing an intense contraction on the tail and in the head, respectively N2 - ABSTRACT: ER -
