ABSTRACT: This research paper explores the societal concern of pet adoption, delving into its implications for animal welfare and the emotional well-being of potential adopters. The conventional manual approach to pet adoption, characterized by subjectivity and time-consuming assessments, is identified as a challenge (Kartal, T.; 2020). To address these issues, the study introduces FurmateMatcher , an innovative pet adoption counselling system that harnesses artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) techniques, specifically Natural Language Processing (NLP), Collaborative Filtering, and Content-Based Filtering. This system aims to improve the efficiency and accuracy of the adoption matching process by offering personalized recommendations to potential adopters based on their profiles and preferences. The integration of FurCare Guide supplements the system by filling information gaps in per care. FurCare Guide serves as an educational resource offering comprehensive insights into pet care, including nutrition, grooming, exercise routines, and medical needs. By empowering pet owners with knowledge and practical advice, FurCare Guide aims to foster responsible pet ownership and strengthen the bond between pets and their human companions. Through a user-friendly interface and curated content, the platform facilitates informed decision-making and promotes holistic well-being for both pets and their caregivers. The research findings affirm the success of FurmateMatcher, with positive feedback on functional suitability, usability, reliability, security, and portability. The potential benefits of the system include heightened adoption efficiency, accuracy, and a more tailored experience for adopters. In essence, FurmateMatcher signifies a transformative stride toward responsible and empathetic pet adoption, highlighting the positive influence of AI on societal challenges. Continued research and development are essential to refine the system and address ethical considerations in the real of pet adoption.
