ABSTRACT: The study focused on the relationship between the psychological admissions tests and performance evaluation of teachers in the school year 1975-1976. It answered the following questions: 1. What is the demographic profile of teachers in terms of sex, civil status, educational attainment, age and length of service. 2. What are the mean scores of the respondents when group according: a. Culture Fair Intelligence Test Scale 3 b. Sixteen Personality Factors c. Teaching Aptitude Test 3. What is the performance level of teachers as rated by students, coordinators, and principals? 4. Is there is significant relationship among the performance ratings given by the principals, coordinators and students? 5. What relationship exists between the performance rating of teachers and psychological admission tests? Utilizing the correlational research method, the samples in this study were 50 teachers both in grade school and high school department who were identified as having a 1-5 years in service at La Consolacion College-Caloocan. The research data were collected through the use of the following instrument: The Culture Fair Intelligence Test (CFIT) Scale 3, Sixteen (16) Personality Factors, Teaching Aptitude Test and the Performance Evaluation results of teachers for school year 1995-1996. Percentage, coefficient of concordance and regression analysis, specifically the Stepwise Regression Analysis were computed statistically, to analyze the data. The study revealed that most of the identified teachers are female, single, Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education graduate, aged 25-29 years with 1-3 years of service at LCC-Caloocan. Teachers have an average mental ability and aptitude. They tend to manifest behavior associated with expedient. The overall performance evaluation rating of teachers was considered Very Satisfactory. The null hypotheses on the no agreement among the performance ratings given by the principal, coordinators and students and the no relationship between the psychological admission tests and performance evaluation ratings were rejected. With recommendations addressed to the students, parents, teachers, school management and future researchers, the study concludes that teachers can be helped to improve their teaching performance. As a results of the study, the psychological admission tests such as CFIT, 16 PF, and TAT can predict the teaching performance of teachers. The utilization of the psychological admission tests is recommended for admission procedure.
