The descriptive method of research was employed in this study. in terms of data collection, content analysis and survey were made use of. Books, documents and other related materials were subjected to content analysis in the light of the objectives of the study. A questionnaire was presented to education students of the Philippine Christian University to assess their background knowledge and degree of interest on some current Philippine social problems and their educational implications.  Education students of the Philippine Christian University for the first semester of the school year 1996-1997 served as respondents of this study. Since the student population of the education department of the university is relatively small and readily accessible, practically all of the education students of the university took part in the study. in effect, a census survey was administered by the researcher.  The following phases were embarked on by the researcher in this study:  1; Analysis of books, documents and other materials to secure a framework of reference.  2
